Strategic Plan Update: The Learning Culture Strengthening Our School

Strategic Plan

Dear BT Community,

As we reach the midpoint of this school year, I am excited to reexamine the fundamental principles that drive our student-centered approach – the learning culture that empowers growth at BT. While specific aspects may connect more deeply with certain groups, the core components of our learning culture uplift our whole community. Their collective power calls for active participation from students, families, teachers, and staff alike.

  • It begins with our vision serving as a guiding star, inspiring us toward a meaningful future.
  • Our mission encapsulates our purpose and drives us forward.
  • Our core values help us align goals, expectations, and actions.
  • Our charter defines how we want to feel and how we support each other.
  • Our shared learning principles and practices translate into an environment that supports learning and student engagement.
  • Finally, our Portrait of a BT Graduate frames the skills and mindsets activated through this system.

Learn more about BT’s learning culture.

We have many opportunities in the coming months to see this learning culture in action, shaping lessons and programs to empower the next generation.

As we reflect on BT’s milestone 160th year educating students – including 100 years on this historic campus – we’re reminded of the extraordinary past that continues to propel our commitment to excellence forward.

Please save the date for a special state of the school event on January 24, celebrating our school’s rich history and the bright future we are building together.

Warm regards,

Kristi N. Gibbs, Ed.D.
Head of School
