Strategic Plan

First, I want to say thank you for the many celebrations that BTPA held for our faculty and staff and for the kind words and thoughtful gestures of our parent community during Faculty and Staff Appreciation Week. We greatly appreciate the support we receive all year along, and our community’s care for faculty and staff was especially highlighted last week.

Our faculty and staff kicked off last week by enhancing their own learning through a productive and invigorating two-day professional development event. To assist us in continuing our momentum around our strategic goal of becoming a leader in global education, founding director of the Common Ground Collaborative (CGC) Kevin Bartlett and Kelly Armitage, two renowned educational leaders with extensive experience leading globally ranked schools, led our teachers' intentional work on implementing BT’s Principles and Practices. Kevin and Kelly’s work with focused on three elements of BT’s learning culture:

  • Our shared learning language, shaped by our definition of learning as conceptual, competency, character, the “three Cs.” This language allows us to communicate effectively with each other about learning and ensures that all our students are developing in these three areas.
  • Our shared learning principles, translated into practices for learners, teachers, leaders, and parents. These practices help us to create an environment that supports learning and student engagement and aligns our work towards our common goal.
  • Our collaborative professional learning system, through which we continuously improve at the practices suggested by our learning principles.

By focusing on the three key elements of BT’s learning culture - our shared learning language, our shared learning principles, and our collaborative professional learning system - we are confident that we are preparing our students for success in the global community. Our teachers are implementing globally focused modules of study into the existing curriculum, establishing learning outcomes, metrics, and assessments for each module. We are excited about the progress we have made so far, and we look forward to sharing more updates with you as we continue to work towards our goals.

We continue to focus on preparing our students to be leaders and changemakers, understanding how their actions impact decisions locally and beyond. l
