Why BT?

The elements that distinguish a BT education inspire future leaders and change makers while challenging them to be better tomorrow than they are today:

Redefined Rigor

BT has long been known for being academically challenging. We continue to have high academic standards while also preparing students to thrive in a rapidly changing world. Our faculty use an inquiry-based approach to teach the Portrait of a BT Graduate core competencies through academic content. Those core competencies are:

• Understanding one’s own identity and values. 
• Ability to work across lines of cultural difference.
• Skills to negotiate and build relationships in any context.
• Empathy and concern for others. 
•  Decision-making, solving problems, and taking appropriate risks.
• Ability and willingness to advocate for oneself and others.

Focus on Student Well-being

We recognize that students have to be happy and healthy to succeed in a challenging educational setting like BT. Therefore, students in all grades have time in their weekly schedule dedicated to social emotional learning. In addition, BT offers a wide variety of free mental health care services to all students, faculty, and staff.

Full-day Programming

In addition to an exceptional education, BT also offers a full slate of programming to round out the day including robust athletics, activities like robotics and jazz band, summer camps and classes, and more.
