Every student. Every mind. Every heart. Known. Inspired. Challenged.
Those nine words are at the center of everything we do. I am moved by how quickly and wholeheartedly our mission has been embraced since its introduction in 2019. At that time we were in the midst of two key governance processes - a strategic planning process and the Independent Schools Association of the Central States (ISACS) re-accreditation process.
As we approach the stated end year of the 2019-2023 Strategic Plan, BT’s administration and Board of Trustees revisited the purpose and recognized the benefits we realized when the two processes coincided. To harness that same level of synergy, BT will be extending the end date of our current strategic plan to 2025 so that the cycles of strategic planning and re-accreditation align once again.
We are still actively making progress toward our current strategic goals and are excited by that work - specifically our partnership with Common Ground Collaborative and our focus on preparing students with a global education.
As an educational institution, we are challenged to keep a critical eye on who we are and what we do to ensure we are still serving our community and meeting its needs to the best of our ability. Strategic planning and re-accreditation are key tools we use to do this. The work is invigorating and I look forward to working with you as we continue to grow and learn.
During the 2025-2026 school year, you can expect BT to enter Year 1 - Preparation of the ISACS process. At that time we will be forming our strategic planning committee and conducting research to inform not only the strategic plan, but also the ISACS self-study report.
