The poem “Laika” written by Ava Larson Gallegos, '25, has been chosen to be set to music by composer Sidney Boquiren for this year’s Opera Omaha Poetry and Music Project.
As the author of the poem, Ava has been invited to attend a workshop of the music being composed. At the workshop, the composer will work on the piece of music that they have written with the artist singing it.
The Poetry & Music Project concert will be held on April 6 at Omaha Conservatory of Music. Congratulations, Ava!
