This year, Brownell Talbot is reimagining service learning to catalyze deeper community connections and empower students as advocates for their community. While service has long been a BT priority, new approaches are strengthening outcomes for partners, participants, and the causes served. Last week, BT's Upper School Houses continued their service learning by taking time to expand their learning into action. Some highlights from the day:

Working with the Immigrant Legal Center and Refugee Empowerment Center, Saratoga House helped set up an apartment for five siblings from Afghanistan. They started with an empty two-bedroom apartment and ended with a fully furnished apartment.

Hoyt House has introduced a new recycling program at BT - read more!

Gillmore House worked with Refugee Women Rising to collect period products and other essential items for women. As part of the service learning day, Gillmore and Dake Houses delivered the goods!
