Congratulations to BT fifth grade teacher Dr. Natalie Simms who has been awarded an Honorable Mention at the esteemed 2024 GEBG Salomon Prizes. This prestigious recognition highlights her innovative curriculum project in Humanities: English and Social Studies, which exemplifies the school's commitment to fostering global education and inquiry at Brownell Talbot.

Dr. Simms' project deepens students' understanding of global interconnectivity and equips them with crucial communication skills to thrive in an increasingly diverse world. Through this project, BT students had the opportunity to communicate with peers from the United States, Colombia, Angola, and Japan, exploring thought-provoking lines of inquiry that transcended borders and cultures:

  • How does geographical location affect culture and daily life?
  • What themes can we identify that unite us as one humanity?
  • What can we learn from similarities and differences, and how can these elements empower us as a global society?

Please join us in congratulating Dr. Simms on this well-deserved accolade!
