In early November, fourth grade teacher Cassie Grant and History and ELL teacher Amber Straka took the stage at the ISACS (Independent Schools Association of the Central States) Annual Conference in St. Louis to share their expertise on harnessing the potential of artificial intelligence (AI) in the classroom.
Their presentation, titled "Unlocking AI's Potential: Empowering Students & Teachers," was in high demand, with the session being completely booked out. During the interactive workshop, Grant and Straka demonstrated how educators can leverage AI to create enriching, personalized learning experiences for students while simultaneously alleviating teachers' workloads.
The goal of the session was to equip fellow educators with the knowledge and resources to unlock AI's potential in their own classrooms and schools. Attendees explored a curated suite of student-facing and teacher-facing AI tools, collaborated on implementation strategies provided by Grant and Straka, who then helped participants develop a tailored plan for integrating AI into their teaching practices.
The exceptional teacher leadership demonstrated by Grant and Straka continues to garner recognition for Brownell Talbot College Preparatory School as a leader in educational innovation within the state of Nebraska. Their presentation at the prestigious ISACS conference highlights the school's commitment to empowering both students and teachers through the strategic use of emerging technologies.
"We are incredibly proud of the work Cassie and Amber are doing to push the boundaries of what's possible in education," said Brownell Talbot's Head of School. "Their dedication to exploring the transformative potential of AI is a testament to our school's mission of inspiring and challenging every student, every mind, and every heart."
