BT Students Shine at Junior Theatre Festival

Amaiya Taylor, ’29, and Mahalet Kinde, ’26, recently competed in the Junior Theatre Festival in Atlanta, Georgia as part of The Rose Theater’s Senior Brigade team. They had the honor of showcasing Junie B. Jones as part of the New Works showcase. In the showcase Mahalet played the lead role of Junie B and Amaiya played a lead supporting role. Their team was one of only five teams selected for this honor from the more than 180 competitors. More than 6,000 people attended the festival. The Senior Brigade team won several awards: a best acting award for the entire cast, a New Works showcase performance award, and Mahalet won a festival All Star award.
