Raider Swimmers Excel at State Championships

Over the past weekend, the Raider swimmers exhibited exceptional talent at the 2024 Nebraska State Championships, leaving a lasting impression of excellence on the competition. Led by Senior Captain Grace Swoboda, the team delivered outstanding performances, with Grace seizing the State Championship title in the 100-yd Breaststroke, culminating her high school career on a triumphant note. Accompanied by teammates Jossie Addink, Ingrid Nelson, '25, and Evelyn Carmichael, the team showcased remarkable teamwork in the 200-yd Medley Relay, clinching the 10th position, and the 200-yd Freestyle Relay, securing the 16th spot. Grace further distinguished herself with a 4th place finish in the 50-yd Freestyle, making a significant contribution to the girls team's 13th place overall finish.

On the boys side, sophomore Taco Steiner demonstrated his prowess by qualifying for the consolation finals in both the 200 IM, where he finished 14th, and the 100 Back, securing the 10th position, thereby aiding the boys team in achieving a commendable 21st place overall.

Throughout the championships, the Raider swimmers exhibited unwavering determination and sportsmanship. Noteworthy performances included Jossie Addink in the 100 Backstroke (27th), Jared Fasnancht in the 200 Freestyle (25th), Ingrid Nelson in the 100 Butterfly (20th), and 100 Back (23rd).
