This past weekend, the BT's club swim team showcased exceptional talent and determination at the Midwest All-Star Championships. The event brought together young athletes from Colorado, Iowa, Missouri Valley, North Dakota, and South Dakota, providing a platform for our young swimmers to gain valuable regional racing experience and compete against their peers from across the region. The meet took place in Des Moines, Iowa. Notably, this achievement marked a club record with five athletes were selected to the team.

Mia Schergin, '31, demonstrated outstanding performance throughout the competition, emerging as the top point scorer for both the girls' team and the entire Midwestern Swimming All-Star team. Schergin's exceptional display included an impressive 100% best times and scored 34 points. Her individual achievements comprised a 3rd place finish in the 100 Breast, 3rd place in the 100 Back, 2nd place in the 50 Back, 6th place in the 100 Free, and a remarkable victory in the 50 Breast, posting a time of 36.91 – just off the USA Swimming AAAA time standard. Additionally, Schergin played a pivotal role in leading off the girls' 200-yd Medley Relay A Team, contributing to the team's 5th place finish.

In addition to Schergin's outstanding performances, other young Raiders also achieved notable results. James Reed, '32, secured an 8th place finish in the 200 IM, setting a personal best, and led off the 200 Medley Relay A Team which finished 6th. The 10 & Under Boys 200 Medley Relay B Team, featuring Barrett Holm, '32, and Royce Li, '32, finished 8th, showcasing their talent and dedication to the sport.

This commendable performance at the Midwest All-Star Championships reflects the dedication, skill, and potential of the young Raiders from Brownell Talbot Aquatics.
