BT Aquatic Club Breaks Records at Recent Meet

BT's club swim team competed at the ACE River Races held in Elkhorn over the weekend. The swimmers showcased their talent and achieved remarkable results. Mia Schergin, '31, made her mark by breaking two of team records held by Sophia Schlueter, '25, from the 2018 season: 200-yard freestyle and 100-yard freestyle. Royce Li, '32, broke Carter Hiley's 2018 team record in the 100-yard breaststroke. Lastly, Layne Nichols,  '31, achieved an impressive feat by lowering his own team record in the 50-yard butterfly. 

The Raiders showcased their talent with several event winners: Mia was a standout performer, securing victories in the 10 & under girls' 200-yd freestyle, 100-yd individual medley, 100-yd freestyle, and 100-yd breaststroke. Layne also displayed his skills by winning the 10 & under boys' 50-yd butterfly, while Royce triumphed in the 10 & under boys' 100-yard breaststroke.

Other Top 3 Raider finishers:

James Reed, '32, impressed with a second-place finish in the 200-yard freestyle and 100-yd individual medley. Layne also managed to secure third place in the 200-yd freestyle and second place in the 100-yd freestyle. Ava Brown, '30, achieved third place in the 100-yd butterfly. Barrett Holm, '32, secured third place in the 50-yd backstroke.

Overall, the future looks bright for Brownell Talbot Aquatic Club’s 12-and-under swimmers. The Raiders demonstrated their strength and depth across multiple events and the 12 & Under Age Groups.
