An athlete's health is the root of their success, happiness, and ongoing participation in a sport. As a result, we continuously prioritize the health of our students both on and off the field. Below, you'll find key resources regarding athlete health and wellness.

Be Well. Play Well.

PHYSICAL AND CONSENT FORMS

Sports physicals completed after May 1, 2024, may be submitted to Brownell Talbot. A student is then eligible to compete for the entire 2024-25 school year. Students in grades 9-12 who plan to participate in a fall sport must have their physical/consent form completed and submitted to BT before August 12, 2024. Students in grades 7-8 who plan to play volleyball or football must have it completed by August 19, 2024

Students may get a sports physical with their regular family physician or at any medical clinic that offers them in the city of Omaha.

Concussion Information

Brownell Talbot follows LB 260, the Concussion Awareness Act, which took effect July 1, 2012, in the state of Nebraska. This act states that all athletes suspected of having sustained a concussion in practice or competition will be removed from play. The athlete’s parents will be notified immediately, and the athlete will be unable to return to play until they are cleared by a licensed medical professional. The licensed medical professional and the parent must complete the Concussion Clearance Form and submit this document to the Activities Director before their child is allowed to participate in any practice or game.
